Going is a trio consisting of Giovanni Di Domenico, João Lobo and Pak Yan Lau. Recently they turned from quartet to trio due to the change of ambition of ex member Mathieu Calleja. Outstanding improv. Only 30 minutes long, but rich in atmosphere and textures. Some of the most uplifting and life affirming music you'll hear this year. The trombone and sax combines with electronics and spare percussion alludes to certain categories in music -- chamber classical or jazz, but it transcends them. Highly recommended!

The liner notes describe the village in the cover photo as "bleak but oddly beautiful". That pretty much sums up the music itself as well. Dark and dire but somehow shining as well. An engaging experience.
